A tough one to figure out, vague error that usually shows up when you start the game or during compile, or even when WC/Hammer starts up - you have gone over the memory limit somewhere for some reason. It can be too little RAM (128M is about minimum), a leaf saw into leaf error, too long pathnames, too many textures, too big a level, too big or too many model/sprites, too big a wav sound file - or it could be that old "too many wads" mistake, a huge "noob" brush around the map to prevent leaks, too many SKY faces on hidden brush faces in the level - or even something else. Example: In early versions of NS, the 3D area info location entities were a major cause.
If it happens during compile, do not use WC/Hammer to "run" the map, but use a front end or batch file to compile with. You could also get more RAM.

It does create a bsp file anyways. leak or no. the point is. while compiling if it sais bsp file regeneration succesful then no leaks exist. But if it sais leak hole generated then it still creates bsp but you wont have lights or any other thing to make your map realistic. So leaks eventually destroy the whole effort,but the map is playable.
thats strange. When i have leaks i can play the map normally. Only the spot were the leak is is like this. it takes the shape of the prvious thing you have looked at.
this is caused by a leak. You have any errors in you zhlt file? or whereever you compile? From the pic it looks like there is no sky.

Well i know its frustrating to start from scratch but i see you have a MASSIVE number of coplanar plane brushes. Most of the times the alp+p doesnt work and you need o do it manually. i wouldnt if i were you. The choise is yours ofcource.

you have to use the train entitie but i am not sure how it works. I have never tried it realy.
It was like my problem. Ni leaks no anything and there were many coplanar palnes. In my case they were descs. that were made form the promitivs. I found them,deleted them and the map was just fine.Try to find the problem and if there any similar othar brushes just delete them.

I have been working on the same map still and when i compile it everything works nice. But when add a bot it lags and no nav file is made as t should be. What could it be? i have made a square map to test and there is nav created. What wrong with this one?

Yea i have done the skybox succesfully. So i palce the entity were i want to ant it will shine? the shadows will be were i place it?
I want to light the map with something so it looks like daytime. I dont like the mpas with no lights. They are ugly and disgusting. But if i add only light entity it soes up light only at the spot placed and not all the map. I have the entity light_enviroment but i am not sure. if it is were i place it?

I cant take screen right now. But i am suspecting that it might be that there is no .nav file created. Notice that if u have a map with no .nav file it lags before its created. And when it is created its ok. hmmm i will read some guides and i will definitely solve this one.

By the way tha lag with the bot is everywere!! not just particular spots.

I would say with a hammer but i guess u need the laptop... I thing that u need to be more delicate with ur moves on the laptop cause man they are fragile.

Ok here i am again with another question.... So in my previous topic
i said about not being able to compile. that was solved and it turned out ok. Now when i set a game with no bots to see the map its running smoothly. But when i add 1(!!!) bot its lags like a b*stard. my latency turns at an extreme ammount of 400+ and this with 1 bot and with no bots zero lag. The strange thing is that i get no error log in zhlt. Could this be caused by lack of RAM??
I have suprisingly found the problems and it seems to be working. Dont ask me how. I just got it. lol

any other compile way that is easier or at least working for me?
So do you suugest anything? Should i unistall the game and install again? i realy need to find a sollution to this. Do you need to post log?




PS: at the error log it sais something about an entity with coplanar plane. What the heck is the coplanar plane???

yea they are in the C:\ hard drive both only in diffent folders. The game is in counter strike folder and the zhlt in a file by that name. i dont know if that had to do anything but it seems weird. When i open a new map to create in the textures window there is a white texture as default instead of the AAA triger one. does that have anything to do?
U mean the game and what else?
I maen that i have read somewere about some problems in other forums that some textures ingame look like the AAA triger texture.
For the first question. I have checked all paths many times and tried comliling again and again. It doesnt seem to be working :(

ok so when i try to compile a map the bat files sais that the windows cannot locate the chosen file path.... i have absolutely no idea what that might be.

Also another question is about textures. I have read that in order to be visible in game thay have to be in the same folder as what????
