Every user who registers on the forum is numbered. The number assigned is the user's quote-color. I just checked to see what is the last user's number is. It's 1930. I am now going to quote with #1931 and see what happens when he registers.

Holy fuck! We never noticed! It turned mustardy!!
I don't know who's it is, though. It seems that many users register but don't post.
The mustardy guy is #1931, and the most recent registerer I saw is a mapping newbie #1934.

50 points to the closest bet on user #1938!
My bet is: post color #888888 (in Hex, of course). This is statistically the best color to bet on... smack in the middle of our field of options.

ha then i guess #888887
But even then, I had my honor. The largest Banora White tree grew on a wealthy man's estate. It was rumored, that those apples tasted the best, but I never stole from that tree, because the wealthy man's son, was my friend...

Edan when you have a set of objects from which to choose and all have equal probability, well, they all have equal probability. There's no 'most likely'. In fact they're all the most likely.
I dunno if you guys have noticed but the forum colours are not sampled out of all the available hex colours. Mine, for instance, is #eeff44, and all colours follow this pattern. I think. Kudos for correctness?

Yes, you see, but if we're checking to see who's bet is closest... being in the middle matters. You are as close as you can be.

Kudos. I started writing the same thing after molkman's bet. I wrote a big long paragraph about post-colors consisting of pairs of 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, 99, aa, bb, cc, dd, ee or ff. Then I wrote I wanted to change my bet because it's inaccurate; the numbers 00, 11, 22 and 33 don't appear to be assigned to people. After writing all that, I hit my "page back" button accidentally.

Ahah! The user has registered!
His colour is 0xccddcc. That might make Edan the correctest-est but I am not sure.

Havokk defined it nicely in words, I'll put it this way:
D - distance
R - red factor
G - green factor
B - blue factor
Index number 1 - from color guessed
Index number 2 - from color assigned
