I want to light the map with something so it looks like daytime. I dont like the mpas with no lights. They are ugly and disgusting. But if i add only light entity it soes up light only at the spot placed and not all the map. I have the entity light_enviroment but i am not sure. if it is were i place it?

light_environment is the right entity. You need to create a sky for it to work, though.

Yea i have done the skybox succesfully. So i palce the entity were i want to ant it will shine? the shadows will be were i place it?

The shadows will be like in the real world. You can set the light's pitch in its properties (-90 is straight down).

There is naother prob now. Before i put the lights no errors showed up. Now i put lights it sais this in error log

hlrad: Error: Malformed face normal
Description: The texture alignment of a visible face is unusable
Howto Fix: If using Worldcraft, do a check for problems and fix any occurences of 'Texture axis perpindicular to face'


What could this be? I went to hammer and fixed it but still it shows up in the error log. Also the lighting entities i put dont show up in game.

Then check the coordinates and find the brush thats making the problem and delete it and rebuild it also make sure that if it's a thin brush and you fitted the texture that on the thin sides the texture size must not go under 0.25. hope it helps.
