Well, i meant to ask which i had to look at, the name of the axis, or the colour. I assumed we're all using Hammer, and i saw no reason why the Hammer people would put a randomizer for the colours.

There are two types of entities for weapons: An entity that sets which weapons are recieved upon starting the game, and an entity that drops an actual weapon on that spot.
I think what you're looking for is Armoury_entity Mind you, you have to know the real names for the weapons. What is called a Clarion 5.56 in-game is actually a FAMAS (Fusil d'Assault de la Manufacture d'Armes de St-Etienne), what in-game is called a CV-47 is actually an AK-47, the in-game Maverick rifle is named M4A1, and so on. If you need to know the actual name of a weapon, just go in-game, wield the weapon, shoot a bot with it, hit the ` key (console), and you will read <your name> killed <bot name> with <weapon name>. Okay, this isn't totally related to hammer, but does anyone know a good program, preferrably free, that records on-screen audio without recording Mic audio? I have Hypercam 2, but the quality sucks :/

What is Podbot, if i may ask? All i've ever done is construct a map in hammer, compile it and play it in CS, so i don't have any experience in the Bot-pathway field.

You could try replacing your 'He grenade' model with a model of a launcher and a fit grenade. Only has one load, but its still a grenade launcher.

Just to ask, but does anybody know how to select a group of brushes, like drag select, or just all brushes and entities in the whole map? My hammer wont work with a drag-and-drop.

If you have a leak you really cant find, you cover your whole map with a box. Make it hollow, then assign it a very bright colour, not commonly used, like yellow. Then compile your map, and go inside and look for any spots of yellow. If you find it, close the leak, and get rid of the box, cuz it slows down alot.

About the washing machine, i got it to work mostly by letting the water and the door open again after a set time. The button triggers a multimanager, which triggers the door, then after 5 secs the other things. It also triggers a second multimanager, which stops the trigger_hurt and func_rotating entities. This seems to work most of the time. Any ideas on how i can make a barrel instead of having to use a hollow cube? User

oookaaay, me again here. Im busy on a full-fledged CS map, in rats style. Now i have two problems.
I have a set of vents. I want to light those, but if i place lights in my vents i get: 'Warning: too many light styles on a face.' while compiling. Also, there is a washing machine. It has a button, when it closes the door is supposed to close, water come up, a trigger_hurt activate and the machine spin. Now this fuzzes everything up when CT/T team wins while it is spinning. So: is there a way to make all entities stop, including multimanagers, if a team wins? And otherwise, is there a way i can make the machine eventually revert to its original state? Any help is welcome :), thanks in advance Truck

Problem was that i had not made any ground under a structure, which was a little too high as follows. Invisible leak, still a leak. Anyways, still, how do you make sense of a pointfile that goes crazy? User
Okay, classic problem again: I have a LEAK in my map. For the moment i surrounded it with a big box for testing the rest at speed, but as the rule says 'NEVER SURROUND YOUR MAP WITH A BIG BOX', i need a sollution. I loaded up a pointfile, but after a few dozen units the line collides with another line, and i get completely lost as to where the leak might be. The places on my 2D's where the line exits seem to be all closed off and safe. Weird enough the box isn't really affecting compilation time in anything really big, nor does it cause lag in game.
Also, if i place a URL, how do i make it show another text than the URL itself? I am already quite familiar with leaks, but i have checked most places, it doesn't appear to be leaking. So what is going wrong then? No entities out of map either. Also, if i place a URL, how do i make it show another text than the URL itself? User

Lol i never really thought of that as faces! :P. But weird enough, in zhlt.wad 'Origin' was green with O's, 'AAAtrigger' was purple with T's, and 'Clip' was white with C's. When i added halflife.wad, i get two of each texture, the old one and the "faces". Each time i try to apply the old ones, it automatically applies the new one.
About your wall; you COULD make an invivible, shoot through wall, but you would have to enclose it with a solid, world brush. I still wonder: why would you want to have a wall outside your map, which isn't accessible by player OR bullet if your map isn't leaking? About the shrinking, i was wondering that for a while too. I sometimes make these mice sized maps, where you are really small, and everything is really big. Would be handy if i could use enlarge for that. You could individually select your walls, shrink those, then the furniture, shrink that, then everything else, shrink that. Two problems tho: you can't shrink the players, they will always stay the same size. Also, you can't make decalls smaller or larger. User

Also, idk alot about these issues, but you might want to try grouping brushes, applying 'null' texture to some sides, and maybe try using carve to reduce the number of brushes on some things (although this might have a controversial effect). Also, see if there are any spikes/cylinders you might want to cut the side ammount on. Truck

How do i make the entire map revert to its original state once either counters or terrorists win? That is: Set all entities to their starting state, Set all objects bound to them (for instance, func_rotating) to their starting state Set anything that is busy back to not-busy, unless it starts busy. Thank you for the info Example of one of the problems: I have a place where a flood of poisonous water flows once you break the palet. At the end of the map, the water is always back to 'closed' state, but the func_hurt might still be active, since it starts off. User

Got the coplanar thingy. Apparently, two bars i dont remember making popped up in the map. I was making a map where players are like mice, and i made a gigantic counter. Floor was cut up into alot of pieces tho, due to some cutting.

Solved, apparently there is a program for this Found the carve thing, i know where to go for the breakeable. Es_maps None found, but i can make these myself now Half-life Not solved, but im good with counter strike for the moment. User

Didn't make this yet, but i have a link to how to do it. Bot problem: Partly solved. They are taking the big corridors, only one small corridor with a ladder at the end (from a to b, bomb sites are on top of each other). This doesn't make much of a problem. User
It doesn't really.
Each time a player starts a round, he gets SMG 2 and SMG 3 (ump), and any weapons that were left over form prev round. If he still had a SMG, it will not be replaced, but he doesn't have two. I start the game, i recieve the submachine guns. I buy myself a Krieg 550 Sniper Rifle, and my character throws away SMG 2, leaving me with Krieg550 and the UMP smg. If i buy a shotgun then, my character throws away the Krieg550. If i end game with UMP and Krieg550, i get both SMG's again, plus my Krieg. I buy a shotgun THEN, it replaces SMG 2 again, leaving me shotgun, UMP smg, and Krieg550. Anybody know how to change this, or to know which one will be thrown away? Also, how do i make it that you get the SMG, plus the standard pistols? (different CT than T) User

In de_bricks, all players start out with a the second (forgot name. Where can i get a list of these?) and third submachine gun (UMP...) availible. Question is: if you have two guns, which one will you throw away if you buy a new one? User

I heard about half life, but i didn't really know what it is. For some reason the engine refuses to run half-life, only cs... I also wasn't into FPS games until i found out about cs. Cs is fun, and at least it WORKS on my pc. I recently tried Halo 2, but my processor was too slow :P
Also, those sites where it says: download half-life for free. Those aren't legal, right? User

Only small ladder doesn't work now, but that isn't really a problem Anybody know where i can download a few good es_ maps? Also, sorry for all the questions but can anybody explain me what half life is, and how it is related to Counter Strike? Which version goes with what version of cs? I have only a copy of CS. If i try to switch game to Half life using the Change Game button i can't get half life to do anything :( User

Very simple sollution:
Open the server with the crasher, your game will crash before anybody can join. Open the server without the crasher, anybody connecting will get the map without the crasher and they can play it. If you dont want anybody to join, just disable your wireless adapter and unplug any connection cables. Right? User

OK be prepared cuz this is alot of problems:

Bots take the central, obvious way always, but this usually leads to a confrontation in a central chamber without the bomb ever getting planted. So i made a hall from the side of both spawns, that leads to site A. A is connected by a ladder to B, which is right above this. Yet i cannot get bots in any way to take either the ladder or the extra hallways. I know this has probably something to do with waypointing, but only sollution i find is for Source. Again, i have Counter strike 1.6 No Steam, i think this is Counter Strike 1.5. I learned mapping using this tutorial: http://www.superjer.com/learn.php Also, just a small problem: I start and play counter strike 1.6 no steam. It has a button that says 'change game'. I can switch to half-life, but i can't start any game or so. It just refuses to do anything no matter how many times i click the button, or the game just crashes.
