My dad was arguing with my mom about why is gold so valuable. In Biblical times it was valuable. But gold was so useless. It was hard to find bu useless.Steel was hard to find and had many uses.

Long story short: Why Gold?

SHIT

Gold is very valuable because it is a nice looking metal. Creating objects out of gold.. they look pretty damn good. Aside from that it doesn't corrode, again adding to its loveliness.

A major cause is also that gold is very rare. Like truffles, vanilla or certain herbs which are also really rare.

In Diablo 2 people pay top dollar for perfect enigmas. They aren't better, they're just rare. This example really has no impact on the conversation, I just felt like talking about Diablo 2.

Beat me to it. But id'a called him an ignorant cunt. EITHER WAY.

Gold is valuable because society dictates it to be so, and yes because it's rare. Same reason why the paper in your mommy's purse caries value. We could have just been like "Yeah it's rare but no one cares and we don't like it so fuck off." but we as a culture enjoy shiny things and huzzah, there's your value.

Do you NEED any other reason than it being shiny?

Also the high conductivity, malleability, ductility and corrosive resistance...

400 years from now all that little text didn't matter .. but still it was valuable
anyway there are other materials with much greater heat/electrical conductivity , and all the other

The corrosion resistance mattered. Ductility not so much, malleability yes, conductivity obviously no. Ceramics do conduct better than gold but they are not particularly ductile or malleable, particularly at the cold temperatures they need to be at to become superconducting.

Also, jrkookid, you said you were going to reduce the size of your signature but once again it's too wide...

You're not using IE are you?
