Sometimes I honestly think that I am the only one out there who ponders abstract things. I feel that people in general are quite niave and usually do not have a clue about anything, but they are more concerned about their house, their taxes, their car, how their social life is doing, ect. They seem to just wander the earth, left in socialtal bounds, following a strict, uniform order, in which they are nothing more than conformists, and could care less about the order of the universe. I feel like most things I prefer to learn and think about are less important in the eyes of the non-self aware people. Things such as philosophy, astrophysics, neuralscience, psychology, mathmatics, ect. I often ponder why people often REFUSE to learn these important subjects. Why??? Because their STUPID!!! Lets face the facts. We think we are all special. Look at all our religions, Christianity, Islam, Scientology (if thats not a cult), all of them are bullshit. Can we honestly say that we will go to a place where a big red guy with hooves and a pitchfork will boil me alive in the center of the earth, for all eternity, IF I dont believe in the church and obey its every word and law??? In the middle ages, one of Martin Luther's followers decided to oppose the church by saying the word of God was more important than the churches. He was promply burnt at the stake. Religion has done more harm than any other idea on the planet (Perhaps less than the nazi idea of Aryans as the Master Race, but religion has caused harm in itself). Now, I am going to bring up an old argument: If we found an alien race, It would probablly change a lot of religons. Why? We're no longer special. We arnt the only ones who are capable of thinking that were better than everything else. You see, religion is a giant ego trip for the human race. Honestly, I think we might not be better off with out it in some cases, like all the charity going to disaster victims, people having no empathy, ect. However, just think of all the religious right activists we have in the united states. I dont have a choice. Every day, I HAVE to stand up and respect my allegiance to God, even through I am an athiest. Why? Stupid people. Stupid people that believe in things like "Angels" and "Demons!!!" and "God" and all this other bullshit. Point is, we are nothing more than a phenomenan occurring in our brain by the interaction of neural cells. Religion is utter bullshit. Religion is FALSE. And yet with the growing age of science, we STILL believe in it. Religion is not the study of fact, it is the study of FICTION. However, some ideals are somewhat moral and true. Abortion should have some bounderies, for example. Now dont get me wrong, I dont believe in sucking a fetuses brains out. Hell no. However, I do believe in killing off a few mindless cells to prevent 18 years of hardship of some teenage slut.
