In this post I'll be announcing new features I plan on adding to the forum as time permits.
1.New post highlights - There's a bug on the forum where posts get marked as read even though you haven't seen them. This makes it hard for me to login and quickly read everything that's new. I'm going to TRY to fix this, and make posts you haven't already read more highlighted. Also the will take you to the first new post not the last new post.
2.Spades (in beta testing now) - This is one the staff have been tossing around since the original forums, three forums ago. When a user does something really stupid/annoying, other users can punish him/her by making him/her pay in spades. If you don't have enough spades you can't post anymore. Spades regenerate at a slow rate (i.e. 1/4 spade per day).
3.Ban privileges - This is something we used to have, although it wasn't automated. Basically, if a user does something really worthwhile, s/he will earn a ban privilege, which means s/he can ban 1 other user at the click of a button.
EDIT: You can also earn a ban privilege just by being an enemy of someone who annoys me a lot.

Huh, that's interesting, you're turning the spades into a public voting type thing? Sort of an interesting twist, I figured it was going to be a sort of anonymous thing, but now it's more a public flogging format. Fitting, since I pretty much wrote that one to piss someone off.
What about cherries? I seem to remember something about cherries along the way, or did those turn into ban privileges? Or am I just horribly delusional yet again?

It's not much, I mean, the only concept I had of Spades is you click a post, decide the bitch oughta pay in Spades, and the Spades go down. That's it, no notification of who did it or anything, but your method is probably better because 1) it brings attention to the post in question and 2) there has to be some kind of consensus and you can't totally rail on someone's Spades just for shits and giggles.
Pseudo-originally (once we started talking about spades, that is) the cherries were to be the manifestation of the points JMD gave/took and were to be utterly meaningless.
That is, he would be taking peoples cherries.
