Heh, my flatmate ended up with a virus of some kind (it was a script of some sort). I tried all sorts of funky ways to DESTROY it but Vista kept on telling me I didn't have permission. This was of course because it was still running :/
I felt a bit silly.

I wrote a virus.
Well not really. Its just this crazy thing that makes your computer beep and spews satanic messages. And thats it, Nothing destructive. Although sometimes it unintentionally crashes computers, but thats cause of my shitty programming.

Save it as an EXE. I don't know why, but it made my printer start printing blank pages. And the EXE file undeleteable, it was ALWAYS being used by another program.

Well, if you knew some machine code and had all the ascii binary values memorized, then techically you could create an executeable, by typing the words manually into notepad in ascii format (Cause 1 ascii character = 1 byte). I'm not entirely sure how long X86 machine code is in bytes, so you might have to do some binary aritmatic.
Also, you need the character map out, to place binary values of text as well. IE: 96 = 'z' = 00110010 in binary. The null character, which might be something in machine code (although machine code is chinese to me), would not have a displayable character, but might be a box kinda thing in notepad, like: 0 = '[]" = 00000000 in binary. Except the brackets would look like one character.
It would be really fucking hard to do, but possible, with a degree in computer science? Yes.

I'm going to take a wild geuss and say that your friend is a scriptkiddy who claims he knows how to hack and just uses sub7.
However, if you really serious on wanting to learn how to hack there are plenty of people online that are willing to point you in the right direction; don't expect them to hold your hand though.
Even though I'm not a hacker, I believe a good and simple place to start would be learning how to use telnet.

The only languages I really know, are C and C++. BlitzBasic, I learned but never used; Visual basic was boring and my teacher was terrible; and then there's GML, which doesn't even count. Python I heard is easy to learn, I might try that. I did hear it was interpreted though.
But in all seriousness, I really need to take the time to memorize all the HTML tags, which is something I never got around to doing. That and learning spanish.
EDIT: I should probablly learn assembly while I'm at it. What else should I learn?

I think Javascript would be a good choice because of its use in websites and its similarity to Flash's Actionscript.

Java Sucks.
Yes, Python is interpreted but it's pretty fast for all that. If speed was really an issue supposedly Lua is the fastest around. You probably wouldn't need assembler, though it can be used in Garry's Mod I think (random aside).
EDIT: learn the languages on this page. There's one that can crash your computer in approx. 5 characters.

Maybe they're still getting the parts. Like me, I'm building myself one, I just need:
a keyboard
a mouse
a PSU
a CPU
a mobo
ram
a graphics card
a sound card
a fan
a box to put it all in
and so on...
 they will be bought this summer when I bump up my hours again.

Yeah today now they are both getting school funding BY OUR COUNTY SCHOOLS MONEY! To build 80 foot towers and wireless connect to each others houses with Dtv dishes and do projects via wireless over those bad-ass towers....He would not shut up....and they have to prove it works(which im sure it will.) and do projects over it and he might just get me in it and my buddy.Which would be pointless...but id like a 80 foot tower at my backwoods house.
