Hey everyone! Just want to compare my computer to everyone elses. Here's my specs:

Motherboard: Abit AV8
Power Supply: 400 Watt, Powmax*
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 4000+, 2.4GHz
RAM: 1GB(2x 512MB) PC3200 Dual-Channel
Video Card: ATI All-In-Wonder 2006 Edition, Radeon 9600 GPU, 256Mb
Hard Drive: Western Digital 250GB SATA 150**

*I am getting a new case, with a new power supply: Raidmax 420 Watt
**I am also getting a new hard drive: Western Digital Raptor 37GB SATA 150

Please tell me your specs so I can see how much better my comp is than yours. :)

My computer is so slow, it can barely run halflife 2.

Im not even going to bother posting my specs.

Ok yeah I will:

Pentium 4 1500mhz
512 megs of ram.
Nvidia Gforce 6600

And 2 crappy ass hard drives, 20 and 30 gigs, respectively.

Do i need to update my computer?


Its five years old so its pretty beat. Its side is off and its all dusty. I want to get and X2 soon, but its SPENCIVE at best buy. So were thinkin of getting it from PC Mag.

Well, my computer's abotu twice as good as dburnell's, if for no other reason than I have an AMD processor... I bought a 300 gb hard drive and a new 24x dvd rom drive the other day, but I can't install the bloody things because the other side of my case won't come off.

Anyway, I'd upgrade my computer, but I've been saving up my cash for a new car because the next time I make a sharp right turn, the wheels will fall off and I will die.

(And when I first read Tater's post, I thought he said his processor was 9000+, holy shit)

The condensed version (The kind without all the chaff). Also note that to be original I'm posting the rate of my processor instead of the frequency:

AMD athlon 3500+, with a rate of 4.16*10^-6 (in seconds per cycle)
2 gigs of ram <3
WD Raptor 10k rpm hard drives in 36 and 72 gig flavors.
And an ATI X850 something graphics card.

Since I've suddenly decided to stop being lazy...

So, really, not that great, and I've had it for about two and a half years now..... but the case I use has power supplies and vents out the wazzoo, so it can be built upon fairly easily, if I could get the other side off...

Alright! I got my new case. Updated specs:
Power Supply: 450 Watt, Raidmax

*Yes, I know I said it would be a 420 Watt, which is what I thought it would be. I was wrong. :D

Intel motherboards are stupid.
Since intel is against over clocking i can only increase FSB by 4%,( ~3.2 to ~3.3 ghz) then of course i get memory detection error afterwards with continous beeping, and then i have to move the bios jumper to make it work again.

For the Which part is better battle.
Processors- i say AMD
HDD- Seagate
PSU- Pc power and cooling, but i really like the features of the Hiper ( such as the fan staying on for a few minutes after pc turns off)
SoundBlaster for sound card
I still like ATI more than nVIDIA though for video cards.
And corsair for ram.
