Huh.
All I know is that they say that if I go to college, then I will have a better chance of making moolah. Seems worth the investment into tuition and all that; besides, I like money.

Well, if you're going to college for a CS degree then it won't help. If you actually know what you're doing then you can make something cool and THAT can be your resume in it's entirety.
And no, Molkman, many people don't know this... but there are actually many jobs you can get that there is no college degree for. Such as being a caretaker. Experience is the only thing that counts when becoming a caretaker. Meaning it's next to impossible to get into it... but I'm good at worming my way into things. Another example of a profession that a lot of people go for is starting a business, there's nobody to hire you so a degree doesn't mean a damn thing.
Although I still ACT like a bum.
Oh, and Cornell, there are a LOT of people who get CS degrees and still have no idea what they're doing and they never really amount to anything. It's not really much of a guarantee. If you can't make something that's cool enough to get you hired somewhere then you probably shouldn't get into CS.

I can make stuff, its just I have the incredibly inconvenient problem of never finishing them. Which once again ties into my laziness.

My friends dad never went to High school and left home right after 8th grade and lived on his own....and now he owns a construction company and is Rich, Has a pool, a Playground, a HUGE house, and anything else you can imagine....

The most stupid thing about that is that you only remember when the Battle of Hastings took place for a few months... so it was a complete waste of time to teach it even just for the purpose of out-of-the-way erudition.

The point in learning history is not to remember what happened, but to learn from the past... The history that we learn is Israel is EXTREMELY important. AlsŎ, the grades you get at the end of high school are more like an IQ test; they show how much you can learn, not how much you know. I guess that's true only about the schools here too... So I'll go to school.

well a little correction :
you learn the important parts of history ( like when great leaders fuck things up ) so when you grow up and your gonna try to conquer the world, you won't make the same mistakes that others made ...
you will make your own mistakes so that the next generation can learn form that ...
and be 1 step closer to success

Everyone knows about the important parts of history without going to school. People that DON'T know about them went to school and didn't learn them anyway, so apparently school didn't help. It's sad, but no matter how much schoolin' you give, you still have a big chunk of the US population that is so stupid that they don't know who Abraham Lincoln is. It's all like, seriously, you see his face EVERY DAY. WTF.
And, just for everyone's logbooks... I have never been successfully convicted of panty-sniffing! The bounties on my head are totally illegal and were made on the basis of hearsay!

I agree whole heartedly with aaronjer. I pretty much learned about 97% of world history in 5th grade. Hell, I even took the book home and read straight through the whole thing. What I don't understand, is why they bother to teach the SAME things up until senior year?
And its not just that, its about ALL classes. (Except math. Waaaay too much shit to learn in one year.)
Example: They gave us a class in elementary school on how to learn word. Guess what? Everyone in the classed learned in about 4 weeks. Years later, Junior/senior year, they're giving out classes on how to learn it STILL. And guess what: everyone ends up learning the same shit every year! Its idiotic.
I could rant for hours on this, but it won't make a diffrence, so meh.

I'd compare and contrast to the Higher system in Scotland. It's a pretty tough year, but the courses are decent.
It'd be interesting to swap exam papers to see what sort of content is in each system. For reference, Highers are sat at the age of 16 and virtually decide if you go to University or not (not quite true, some ask for Advanced Highers... horrible. I did 3 :D).
