$100 a month? For a phone? What on earth can make that be worth it?

His desire to own a Macintosh product in the first place should be enough for you to see he has irrational buying habits. I don't think "worth it" ever even crossed his mind.
Oh, wait, you own a Macintosh computer! Hah, that explains it!

It really isn't that Macintosh computers/peripherals/devices are useless. They work perfectly fine, there's nothing physically wrong with them at all. The only problem is the price. Macintosh products are absurdly expensive and there's always something that does the exact same thing for half the price.

Yes, but unlike Windows stuff they have the feature of working perfectly fine for over two years without the user having to be a computer expert to fix it every month.

I dispute that statement. Ever tried to get an open source application working on MacOS? The GUI problems are horrific.

I haven't ever had to fix my current computer with it's current OS. Most problems people have to fix are because they are stupid and go to casual games sites and download suspicious torrents. Not doing those things is all you really have to do to avoid viruses... assuming you aren't running Win98 or IE6 or something.
Oh... also... Macs spend so much time updating themselves that it even puts Firefox to shame. A Mac that SuperJer has actually filled itself up with too many updates and ran out of harddrive space without him ever using the computer for anything memory intensive.

I wouldn't say Firefox has too many updates, in my experience. Certainly Windows has lots as does Ubuntu (like loads, but that is partially due to the way packages are organised - a change in one can sometimes require a change in many as is the case for the Firefox package).

Well, from own experience, my computer used to crash like twice a year and had to be reset to zero. I did go to alot of casual gamesites though, but viruses were never the cause. I also had to boot my computer like 3 times before it worked, since I always got bluescreens on startup. Some hardware crap. That's the good thing about Macs; although they seem to have weaker hardware, the hardware they have is perfectly synchronized and works together really well.
Of course, if you want to do alot of customizing shizzle and program around your OS and all, a Mac isn't the right thing. It works fine for me though.

I do agree with that: Macintosh hardware and software is tied very closely together, they're pretty much rock solid.

Yeah... uh... I've been using windows base products pretty much all my life and I haven't had to reset to zero ever and I haven't even seen a blue screen since Win95. I've never had to do multiple boots to get a machine to work. I've never had hardware sync issues even though I've built my last three machines from parts, but mind you I'm pretty good at that. Not at all like Nez who sits in a dark room and hammers hard drives and processors together until it generates enough sparks to connect to the internet, at which point he loads every virus he can find onto the machine and lets them battle for supremacy.
Anyway, since Macs make all their own hardware it ought to sync. If it didn't, that would be funny.

PC gets all that crap, viruses, rootkits, and malware but if you know how to find it then :D. my sister fucked up her computer and wondered why her monitor couldn't start up then she called me i couldn't help her. she called " geek squad" and when they got done and left i told her " you know, they probably looked at your net history".
mac < pc

I've had Macs crash just as often as any PC. Everyone who tells me that they don't must be using some kind of special crash-free Mac. I don't know where one gets one of those. I've seen that little bomb icon and heard that special *ploonk* noise plenty of times. They do that when I'm even just sitting at the desktop...

Well, from my experience they -or at least mine- works perfectly fine, so I'm on their side.
Everyone should use the device of their preferences though. It didn't work with religion, so why should it with computers.

Well, with religions there is little or no tangible or functional difference, as most people practice their religion however they damn well please. With computers there really is a better and a worse. You can quantify and qualify the various different aspects of computers and they don't change no matter how opinionated someone is.
