you can construct them out of brushes ..
but im pretty sure that the ones your talking about are models

models are 3d textured pictures
now you need some kind of modeler program .. like Milkshape ( or download a model <- much easier then learning how to use a program like that )
after you got your model in your cstrike/models/ folder
you put a cycler_sprite in your map and in its properties select the model ..
i don't know much about source mapping

source is different .. the original game was 1.6 we grew up on 1.6 ( or older ) and then came source and changed everything ( everything from graphs to mapping )
and its not upgrading .. its a different game

man you can download cheap pirated stuff FOR FREE and they mostly work .. just check the comments if 80% say it works then its good to download
