What is your favorite act(s) in Diablo 2?

my favorite scene is LOD
just cause of the more detail they put in the whole thing .

but i think the harrowing is great as well but its to short . you don't really get into it , and most people run trough it to fast just to kill Diablo

I've always been a huge fan of Act II. It's purty and fun to run around in. Sometimes I clear out all the outside desert areas just for the fun of it after a hell MF run.

I don't MF with a Hammerdin or any kind of Sorceress (even Meteorbs seem useless for crowd control when you're used to having Death Sentries...), so I can actually kill large masses of normal enemies fairly quickly (or at all) and not have to worry about chasing every one of them down and trying to swing a hammer in just the right direction to kill them. I <3 Trapsassins. I wish she was prettier, but I can put up with her short hair as long as she keeps dropping Act Bosses in a matter of seconds... I feel like I'm doing good with 7k damage traps, but if I believe in the power of love and lightning I may some day hit 10k!

Act II pisses me off. Personally, I prefer the III and IV acts, cause there's something about Khalim (or whatever the hell the jungle place is called.) that I love. Its just... wet and all junglish.

The go down to hell and kill satan thing has always been awesome. Personally I just wish they fleshed out the first one more. And Act V wasn't too great.

Act III is my least favorite act, and it's a good thing too. Since you can go to Travincal, kill the council, and mosey down into the durance and feed Mephisto's bone tentacles up his ass in the span of 5 minutes.

yeah when i started to play with a char , when i got to like lvl 26 i gone to kill mephisto , and kept on killing him and the council for like " a lot of times " till i got to lvl 34 but in a few hours time i would kill mephisto like 30 -40 times ( + some time to gamble/transmute/sell items )

and i remember for some strange reason . rune words didn't work for me ( i had LOD ) and yes im sure i put them in the right order , and sure that i used the right runes ( i looked it up on about 10 sites and confirmed that they all say the same combinations ) i copyed the save to a diferent folder and tryed to put a rune word in one of my items , but time and time again it didn't give those magic properties that it should have

If you play single-player or non-ladder most runewords don't work. It's an incentive to play on the ladder since the runewords you can make there are VIOLENTLY better than anything else in the game.

Also, the correct way to level up is this:

This is assuming you've already been normal rushed up to Ancients. It also assumes that your runs have enough people to get you any experience. More players = better.

Join a players 8 (or as many players as you can find) game.

Kill monsters by yourself in the Blood Moor/Cold Plains.

In 5-10 minutes you should be level 5-6.

Find a Tristrun or get someone to make one for you.

After approx. 20 runs (2 minutes per run) you will be level 12.

Find a Tombrun or get someone to make one for you.

After 1.5 - 2 runs (20-30 minutes per run) you will be level 20.

Find a Cowrun or get someone to make one for you.

After 1 - 3 runs, depending on monster density, you will be level 24. This is by far the shortest but least likely to work part of power leveling. You go to 24 in less than 10 minutes if things go well.

*Have someone kill the ancients for you, you will be level 25.*

Find a Baalrun or get someone to make one for you.

After approx. 20 runs you will be 40.

Have someone kill Baal for you, or kill him yourself if you character is designed to function at mid levels (most good characters can't fight until they are at least level 70.)

Get someone to NM rush you. A good rusher (i.e. someone like me) takes only 5-10 minutes to rush all of NM.

Find a NM Baalrun (nearly impossible) or get someone to make one for you. NM Baalrun xp is insane, you will level 1-3 times per run until you are 60. This should take less than half an hour.

Get someone to Hell rush you. If you don't have friends this will be expensive.

Join a bot run Hell Baalrun. They are absurdly fast and effective. You can be level 80 within 3-4 hours with a little persistence.

You can now level in uber trist, chaosruns, or baalruns. All have their pros and cons.

That is how you level in Diablo 2. Yes, you really can get to level 80 in less than 8 hours.

*Being level 25 before you go on normal Baalruns is absolutely crucial. You will get no experience from a Baalrun at 24, but level more than once at 25.









...there is also bug rushing and chaos runs, which has fewer steps and can potentially get you from 1 - 80 in a couple hours, but you have to be able to find a good chaosrun, which is basically impossible now that we have the hell baalbots.

but about rune words . i only tried rune words that should have worked in single player i never tried the ones that had the " this does not work in single player " label on them

but don't give a shit , i haven't played diablo2 in a while ( a while being aprox 3 years )
