It doesn't really matter. Barbarians aren't useful in melee anyway. They're only good for singing. (They're damn good at singing, though.)

OK, even though I really hate to admit it, I really need a maphack. 
So this one is completely safe to use? I don't want to get banned again right after getting unbanned from my previous banning of the automated banning system.

I've been using it for years and I have never gotten an account banned. Either I'm extremely lucky or it's safe. I'm glad that you've finally joined the map hack crowd, it always makes me sad to see people painfully wasting their time without it and believing they are maintaining some kind of moral high ground. I am quite serious when I say that all veteran Diablo 2 players use some form of map hack. Even the people that are totally against hacks and bots still use it.
It's really not anything but a "boring/not boring" switch.

Now why would you go for the one guide that really sucks when you could've gone for this one that doesn't completely suck (only, why the HELL would you not want an Enigma on your trapsassin?)...

That guide was last updated in 2001. It may have been viable eight years ago, but not now.

It sure does! And yeah, I just googled FCR and found something pretty quick, I'll bet you could do the same!
And... that guide... even in 2001 is just full of fallacies and lies. There is no time in which that would be a good Trapsassin build. It's even worse than your average Martial Arts Assassin.
The one that Mate linked to is the first guide I followed when making a trapper, and then a modified it a bit. Stuff like, "Fuck the Shadow Warrior, she's a liability." and "Enigma. Srsly."

So, with my new computer I also got a Widescreen monitor, but now Diablo (having resolution 800x600) looks really weird. So is there any way to make it not be fullscreen or something so it would look normal?

I'm totally anti-hax (as far as multiplayer goes) and I still use the map hack.
Walking through the game alone or with a friend or whatever is fun every once in a while, but powerleveling and rushing yourself or (especially) other people is the meat of the game. And you can't really do that very well without the map hack.
Speaking of cheating, though, using an item editor in the non bnet ladder game is insanely fun. My favorite thing to do is to create a bow that has a 100% chance to cast a spell on strike. Almost any spell that works is really really funny. I think my favorite is a bow with a 100% chance to cast a high level Fist of the Heavens but does no physical damage. It's like some sort of satellite laser targeting device. A bow that causes teleport is great too. Every time you hit an enemy, they teleport to some random nearby location. Go get a boss by themselves and use a bunch of guided arrows with that bow.

Actually in 2001 the assassin was considered (according to IGN) "an okay character, but one that's not too much fun to play."
