When u click it, does the side u clicked turn red ?
If not then maybe the ''Hide mask'' button is on .

It's weird that it lets u choose the entire object.
Are u sure u pressed ''toggle texture application'' and then chose ur side that u want to click ?

U dont know what a block is or how to do it ???
It's just a box or smthng that u do with da block tool.

Okay, i'll explain again.

Open Hammer.

1. Press the BLOCK TOOL and make a box .
2. Press the TOGGLE TEXTURE APPLICATION.
3. Click the side u want to texture.(in camera view)
4. Choose a texture from the box that appeared when u pressed toggle texture application.(press browse to search the texture)
Press apply and thats it.

How do u start your map ? Do you compile with zhlt and then play?
because when u do that the player will have no guns.

Compile your map,save it as a bsp. file in your cstrike/maps folder.
Then open CS, go to New Game and then choose youre map.
When you spawn,u should have a gun and a knife.

Just make a block, then make it the shape u want with the vertex tool and the cutting tool maybe and then texture the rock... i think. :)

How to make a round shape?
Um, also with vertex tool and cutting tool i think. But u cant get it right round, it will have sharp edges...again, i think :D Here's a picture :).. look for tuts in google.

Try downloading WinBSPC.

Anyway,there should be a 'open or 'convert' button somewhere.
Press that, then choose the map u want.Save it to somewhere and then open it with VHE .

The light_environment entity is a light controller, that casts both diffuse and parallel directional lighting from the toolsskybox texture. This is to approximate the light cast from the Sun or Moon.
The properties of this entity apply to the whole map. Multiple instances of this entity within a map may cause errors. A 3D Skybox does not require an extra light_environment placement.

Light_environment is meant when u have a skybox.If u dont then it wont work in the map.

Why can't i see the ladder in CS 1.6 in my created map, but i can climb it cuz i know where it is.
The ladder is just invisible.

What game do you want to make cliffs for and with what ? Valve Hammer Editor ?

Hey!

When i compile my map and play it, then my player is moving slow.(in a normal server it feels like there im moving faster)
And i can't see my hands unless i have a gun. I want that the players would spawn with a USB ( if CT) , and a knife. And with a Glock (if T) and a knife.
I dunno if u understood me :P

First select your selecting arrow button and then press on the brush.Then press on the texture button...If you select your brush, you want it to turn red but its doesn't?
(Hmm.. try to select the texture button,maybe you have selected ''hide mask'' so your brush wont look red.)
Or just close Hammer and open again :P

Okay, now i have 1 WAD file.
I made a test map (a hollow box with a light and CT spawn).
And when i press F9 to test my map(i have steam) i first get this error : ILocalize::AddFile()failed to load file''steam/cached/steamui_postlogon_english.txt''.

Tools-->Options-->Textures

8 wads is the (recommended) maximum. Any more than that and you could get in trouble...


omg, i have 29 WAD-s.Should i delete some or something?

Hey guys !


I use Valve Hammer Editor(to make maps for CS 1.6), and i get some errors...When i press F9 and ''Go'' to test my map then a Valve Hammer Editor error box apprears that says : ''Valve Hammer Editor has encoured a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'' And then i can choose - send error report or ''don't send'' it. If i press don't send then Valve Hammer Editor just closes.When i press ''Send Error Report'' then it sends some kind of a report and Hammer closes.



I really want to test my map and play it in CS 1.6 but i can't because of that error.And also sometimes when i save my map as a MAP. file and then close VHE and open the map i just saved then the MAP. file is empty.

Help Please !
