Those pictues are not from CS.
What game do you want to make cliffs for and with what ? Valve Hammer Editor ?

Maybe you could just make a block and use the vertex tool for the cliff shape and then texture it ?
I don't know..

In Source you can use a Displacement. (Google it)

In 1.6 you have to make lots of little brushes.

Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohZTKXVt5v8

Can't say how well that will compile, though.

But if you overdo this, it'll cause problems.
...and that's the bottom line because Mate de Vita said so.

GoldSrc (or the compilers?) are really bad with angled surfaces.

Sometimes just having a surface at an angle can cause invisible solid triangles at random nearby places, or disappearing objects, or ... just about anything.

The only way I know to fix it is to move things slightly and recompile until they go away.

You also have to be more careful not to create leaks in the cracks.
