Maybe you could just make a block and use the vertex tool for the cliff shape and then texture it ?

But i tried and it doesn't look good.
Wait for someone smarter to anwser, like Rockbomb, Superjer,Down Rodeo,SRAW,Killer-Duck,sprinkles,eDan Co. and those guys..

In Source you can use a Displacement. (Google it)
In 1.6 you have to make lots of little brushes.

GoldSrc (or the compilers?) are really bad with angled surfaces.
Sometimes just having a surface at an angle can cause invisible solid triangles at random nearby places, or disappearing objects, or ... just about anything.
The only way I know to fix it is to move things slightly and recompile until they go away.
You also have to be more careful not to create leaks in the cracks.
