Ok i also have a problem with ladders.....when i make a ladder.....in game its not there but when i walk to where its supposed to be i can go up it...but i just cant see it.....i dont know if im doing something wrong but please would some 1 tell me how to do it.....Sup unless you would make a tutorial for it and at it to your other 1 (making the beer Box :P ).

By applying the texture called CLIP to a brush, it makes it invisible and solid. It's a good way to keep people out of places you don't want them to go. CLIP only blocks players not bullets/grenades/etc.
By overlap I mean exists in the EXACT same place in 3D.

Don't worry about the clip texture, sup is trying to confuse you :O
Just have two textures, a func_ladder and a func_wall. Place them both together, (one on top of the other), where the func_ladder is on the outside where you want the player to be. And there you go!

The func_ladder is supposed to be invisible. All it does it make a box where you can climb. The part you SEE is up to you to build seperately.
What did you not understand in my ladder tutorial? If you don't use the func_ladder, func_wall and CLIP then your ladder will suck.

Yeah you got it, it's a texture. Is "normal brush with CLIP texture" not clear enough? Maybe I should change it to "normal brush with CLIP texture ON IT"?
If you still don't get something, ask a question. If you just say "I DONT GET IT" then obviously I can't help you.

By the way, clip brushes aren't really needed ><. I've made plenty of ladders with just the func_wall and func_ladder, and they work perfectly. (Besides the fact that sometimes they shoot people in random directions >>)
EDIT BY SUPERJER: For the billionth time! The clip brush is needed so you can shoot through the ladder. Ladders that block bullets are very annoying.
EDIT BY JACKSMOKE: You've only said it once! Who cares if it blocks bullets! :)
EDIT BY SUPERJER: BECAUSE GUESS WHAT HAPPENS IS WHAT HAPPENS IS YOU SEE SOMEONE THROUGH A LADDER AND YOU SHOOT AT THEM BUT OOPS THE BULLETS BOUNCE OFF THE EMPTY SPACE BETWEEN THE BARS AND THEN YOU KILL YOURSELF OUT OF FRUSTRATION THAT'S WHY.
