Umm, why do you want one? Do you actually know C++? Will the questions stop? Yes. You need to have a pretty damned decent knowledge of C/C++ to mod HL (such as our own SuperJer). If you can look at PixelMachine and know what's going on, you're all set.

Google it. It is a language based on 'C' but differs in that it is not imperative but objective in nature. It is the code that most of the programs you will use is written in.

You need a compiler ;)
Personally I use GCC (the GNU Compiler Collection) but this is because I use GNU/Linux, for a Windows machine you're probably best off with Microsoft Visual Studio (Express Edition). There are others; but for learning this is your best bet. Post here if you're having difficulties.

Try using Code::Blocks (when you get better), and bloodshed dev-C++ (in the beginning).
