What irritates me is that the linux distro I got, kanotix, is shittastic when installed to the hard drive, and doing anything to the bios/system/whatever completely wrecks just about EVERY other part of it.
I'm installing ubuntu, but the last CD I had didn't boot, the next one I need to go home and install.

Ubuntu works for me. (Well the wireless was a bitch to set up and sound still doesn't come out of the front speakers, yet in spite of that it's still better than Windows :p)
8.04 is nearly out. Also, look up CompizFusion. They are the bestest, most awesome effects ever.

I don't disagree that Linux is superior to Windows in basically every way. However, there is yet to be a Linux version of Zelda Classic released, so I have to stick with Microsoft until then.

Ok so here it is, the first of my desktops:

This is the new xbuntu 8.04 desktop I have.
I'm trying to change the background colors for the GUI so that I can get it all red like in my kanotix installation, but XFCE doesn't seem to like to place it in plain sight. I'll probably post the kanotix desktop as soon as it wants to boot again .... 
What pisses me off is that wine doesn't run much, even though its goal is to compatible :P ... so unfortunately I'm going to have to reinstall XP (which is millions of times better than vista, still), probably using an emulator, cause my "recovery" disk reformats my entire first hard drive.
Still looking forward to ReactOS though.
