hey, im pretty new to valve hammer and this is my second map, my first one went ok, this one, not so much cause its more complex.. when i goto compile it this is what i get

well it seems that your map is to close to the edge of space ( the part that still has lines ) brushes ( walls and such ) musn't bee close to the edge of your map-space , pls check if any brushes/part of your map is to close to the edge

If yes then select all of your map by dragging a rectangle around it with the select tool and move it away from the edge

ps im drunk 'n tired so don't anyone get mad if i say stupid stuff / insult anyone

The plane with no normal error suggests that you might have a few 'exploded' brushes, i.e. those which have suddenly become infinite along a particular edge or whatever. This sort of thing can happen if you have been playing with the vertex edit tool. There's an helpful link on the other truck that someone linked to.

probably you have a nice little infinite brush that goes past the edge of you map .. so it causes both errors

OK, brush 2 has no normal. This is pretty much unfixable, you'll need to delete it. I believe you can go to tools->go to brush, or something like that. Basically I'm trying to say find brush 2 and KILL IT.

ok i went and found all the brushes that it mentioned in the error log, and they are all the ones that i made a slant, they are perfect slants and dont cross over or in the other brushes.. so the verdict next in line is?

Brushes are allowed to be in brushes. The issue is that if you have deleted the wrong vertices then sometimes you can end up with some funny-lookin' brushes. That don't compile. EdAn came to the conclusion that you need to delete the brushes in this kind of case... If you want to make slants, use the clip tool.

Nah, the funny errors are the ones that happen whenever your computer attempts to go into sleep or hibernate and fails dreadfully, dying quite horribly and spewing up loads of error messages on a black screen. Yes I am familiar with this particular bug
