Too many verts for a dynamic vertex buffer in Hammer Mapping
Hello,
When working on a map of mine I ran into the max_map_planes error, which I decided to fix by converting some complex geometry into props. I found a large piece which had far too many faces than was neccesary and converted it into a model using the propper tool. However, when I then tried to insert it into my map as a prop_static, I got the error; 'Too many verts for a dynamic vertex buffer. Tell a programmer to up VERTEX_BUFFER_SIZE,' and the prop_static did not assume the shape of the model. I would be grateful for any help fixing this, Thanks!

Hi,
I have recently been getting the problem that my map keeps hitting the brushside limit. I don't want to have to drastically change my map in any way, and I would be very pleased if somebody could tell me whether the sides of func_detail entities are counted in this number (so that I can change more of my brushes to func_details if necessary). If they are counted, then does anybody know any other, relatively easy ways to fix this? Thanks!

Vertex manipulation in Hammer Mapping
Whenever I use vertex manipulation to create a concave surface or bend a brush in on itself (such as when fitting a brush around the outside of a cylinder) I get an invalid solid structure error and two strange faces that appear at the edges of the curve. This is very annoying and I can't find a way to get around it, despite the shapes I am trying to create being clearly possible.
Does anybody know a way to prevent this? |
