Its an open source clone of windows, like linux was with unix. 'Cept its binary compatable.

The only problem is that it seems that its not gonna come out anytime soon. Least you can put it on your xbox...

It looks interesting but it looks like it's only as Windows-compatible as Linux+Wine.

I can already run the Windows programs I need to on Linux+Wine anyways, so I don't get what the point of this is.

I'm not to keen on how compatable wine is with windows, and what not. If it has directx support, and is compatable with the windows kernel, then this does seem kinda useless. Although, it looks like they're trying to familiarize windows users with this os, give it all of window's features and the like.

Fake Edit: Apparently it can use windows drivers. So thats a advantage.

Wine is mostly compatible with DirectX, up to version 9 I think.

I can play HL2, CSS, Peggle, BF2 and lots of other games just fine with Wine.

Windows driver support sounds cool, though. I don't think that works at all now.
