download the zhlt.wad
And to add stuff like kitty, i guess the kitty is a texture, and for writing, use decals

download the stuff from this page :
http://www.superjer.com/learn_adv.php
zhtl.wad has all the functionary textures you need ( also can be found in haflife.wad in your valve folder )
expert.fgd gives you access to all entities in valve hammer editor
other ting is download a program to make textures called Wally here
with this you can make images into textures then into .wad files you can add in hammer
you need to respect some sizes and fie tipe to make textures
you should only use .bmp image files and the size of your texture should be like so : 16 X 16 ; 32 X 32 ; 48 X 48 ; 64 X 64 ; 96 X 96 ; 128 X 128 ; 256 X 256 . and combinations of these
( eg: 64 X 256 , 16 X 128 ..)
Wtf is that ? its a bird ! no its a plane ! amm maybe its a plastic bag . NO ! its SUPERJER ! the greatest super hero ever!

48 and 96 are not 2^n.
Are you sure about those?

Sorry Biggins! You are right. It must be divisible by 16, not 2^n.
(16, 32, 48, 64, 80, 96, 112, 128...)

Those are multiplications of 2 [2*n].
Powers of 2 [2^n] would be:
2*2=4
2*2*2=8
2*2*2*2=16
2*2*2*2*2=32
Get it?
