my friend was guiding me through compiling my map and stuff cause he has made a few and like torwards the end he told me to double click the (mapname).err file, it says windows cant open this file, what do i have to do to open it?

Click the right mouse button on that *.err file, than click OPEN WITH on the popup menu, then choose NOTEPAD.... and it will open your err file
I want to make a HL mod! Doing everythig with HL except coding C++ | its not interesting to work alone

right click on the .err file, and click open.
It's going to say "Windows cannot open the file"
Choose from the list below what says "Choose a program from a list"
Check that, and a list should open. Just look for "Notepad" and hit ok or whatever.

Or open Notepad,
And drag and drop the err file,
Onto Notepad. Bang!

Did you ever open the .err file? We gave you a couple ways to do it. If they won't work, your Windows must be busted or something.
