i just made a simle map not using anything fancy and when i play it, i choose my team and everything but everything is black and when i press 'w' to move i dont see the motion of my forearm

Sounds like your info_player_start is OUTSIDE your map.

Or you just didn't add a light.

And if you DID add a light, make sure its inside the map considerably, it dosent have to be mounted on a ceiling or anything, you can chuck it in the middle.

same thing si happening to me but im in the mpa i can see but i cant see and part of my body and no icons nothing else on the screen lik e a radar, and i cant pick my team!

It sounds like you are outside the map.

Check your info_player_start entity:
1. Do you have at least one?
2. Are they all inside a room and not out in the void?
3. Do they fit comfortably inside the rooms?


You cannot choose teams in single player mode which is what you are probably in. You need to start a New Game in order to choose teams.

Single player is nice for debugging stuff because you can use in the console:
sv_cheats 1
noclip
thirdperson
firstperson
