I'm a 14 year old freshman in Ray High School and I want to do this. If I was to present that I could do this, I could make games with this. Do you think they will hire?
Yes, I know I'm a freshman and I don't need to think about this for a long time but they say it takes a year to make a game.
Yeah, I know it's a piece of crap thing but this got my attention. If you ever played fable that will do just fine.(Fable is just like Super Mareo64)

Huh, so they do.
Gamemaker is a good start but don't treat it as the be-all end-all of making games. There's a hell of a lot more to learn and while Gamemaker can get you started on some concepts there is no company that I can think of that will hire you on the basis of knowledge of Gamemaker. To be fair to it I suppose it would help you get going on the design concepts if not the programming knowledge.

There's a hell of a lot more to making a game than programming. If you want to get hired by a game development company you need FAR less skills than what is required to make a game all by yourself. However, having 'cool ideas' is NOT a useful skill, and most people that want to make games never get past that stage. Also, nobody is going to hire you until you're well past 18 unless you pull a Ken Silverman. And trust me, nobody but Ken Silverman pulls Ken Silvermans.
Generally, if you're not going to program anything, you have be very good a whatever niche of art the game requires. I don't just mean drawing things, I'm talking about models and sounds/music as well, the whole works. Actually being involved in the 'concept' part of the game (which is the only part that most people in your position even think about) means that you have to be the lead designer, and generally have a lot of money. Unfortunately, only people with lots of money or people who are capable of single-handedly producing an entire marketable game ever get to be in that position.
Not to stomp all over your dreams or anything...
