Does anyone know of any free midi sequencers that DONT have fifty million useless features? You know, a simple one thats easy to learn, but free?

Do you have Linux? There are lots of those for Linux.

I've tried a few Windows ones but they are really hard or missing features.

I use ModPlug Tracker to make mods/trackers and apparently it can export to Midi but you might find it hard to use as well. I've used it for years, and before that I used similar programs in DOS.

I've only ever made MIDIs with an old Windows 95 program called MusicTime. It's pretty easy to use (I learned how to use it when I was like 12 years old). It's not free though. It looks like they have a new version with a free demo at:

I'm checking it out now, actually...

Thanks a bundle, sup.

I'll try it as soon as I get home...

EDIT: Modplug doesn't support exporting midis... :(

I guess I could export to WAV though...allthough that'll take up a hell of a filesize.

What I'm trying to do is make music for a game, but the only widespread formats for sound with the library are midi and wav. A few others are, but nobody uses them. mp3 isin't supported either, which makes hulk MAD!!!!

Yeah that's lame. JUST midi and wav? Ew. I usually export to .wav from modplug and then convert it to an mp3.

I've been trying out Rosegarden (for Linux) and it is really nice. It's for making midis specifically. I read there is a Windows port somewhere but I couldn't find it. (I wasn't trying too hard since I have Linux anyways.)

Yeah, it only supporsts WAV and VAC. Which is retarted, but it also has input and a really good image manipulation base. The library is allegro actually.

I'm finally back at my house (after partying all friday :D) so I'm gonna go ahead and try downloading modplug, and rosegarden.
