Fish and chips is the shit, ask for it breaded. Consider trying a deep fried mars bar too. Breakfasts are awesome, really helps of you can get a hold of a muffin. White pudding is great though I am having difficulty finding it.

It's hard to get Mars Bars out here in the first place, I think you might have to go to Canada for them. But we do have similar things and a cultural imperative to deep-fry as many things as possible including Coca-Cola.

Personally I have not seen any deep fried places except for those stupidly overpriced fish restuarants in seattle. Also: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/5206/whiskey-marmalade , and it's from the bbc too, so it has to be british

Oh, it's a cooking thing! I see now. That seems interesting, I may test that.

For fish and chips around here, Spud and Ivar's are both all right for fast-foody fish and chips but not exactly ideal

I'm not a very big fish person, but man is Sill delicious. It's pickled herring. Also, Surströmming, fermented herring. As in, it's rotten on purpose. Promises.
