So,i made some floors with solid brushes using one of those textures with the blue background that allow you to see through them.

The problem is,whenever i walk on them the player turns black, like there's no lighting there. The textures aren't dark,i can see them but when i step on those areas everything gets dark (hands and pistol). I tried to add as many lights as possible but that didn't fix it.

I also tried 2 ways of doing it.

First i made those brushes func_wall and solid. And i also tried the other way by making them func_illusionary and then add clip brushes inside them.

What the fuck is going on here?

The floor under the player is probably dark. If you can get some light on the floor I bet it will be OK.

I'm pretty sure the engine gets the model light value only from the floor position. There's no spatial / volume lighting.

Can you see if the worldspawn floor is lit or dark?

If not, maybe try:

Make the entity floor thinner. Does it go all the way down? Bad?
Make the entity floor NOT block light with ZHLT lightflags.

Can you post some pictures of what exactly you mean , or upload the .rmf and wad files used so I can see what you're trying to do.

Yeah,by the way it happened because I didn't turn that water texture to func_water,I just did it to do an early compile to see how the map would look like.I made it a func_water later and then added floor below it to avoid leaks.
