Every time i go to compile the thing fucks up. I click F9 to compile and as soon as I do the whole fucking program just shuts down and that's all that happens. Plus another thing I almost forgot to mention was that I can't export it as .map and the other things that you can export the map as. The compile screen doesn't even appear. Can anyone help Me?

your cpu ram requirement should be at 1 gig.. the program shuts down because of low ram, large ram is needed for compiling..

SRAW means said:

Don't press F9 unless you want to use the inbuilt compiler tools (you probably don't). Also, you need to do the export first otherwise it will not work. At all. Get back to us if it is still not working.

if the comiler screen is turned off then how do you turn it back on and how do you turn up the ram. My laptop used to be able to run it and my home computer could to but now they don't. i've tried using the zoners compiler tools, but they say something about a missing log

It's recommended to use a batch-file for compiling since it's faster and better.

If you still want to compile from Hammer you'll need to make sure you got Hammer set up correctly: http://www.superjer.com/forum/f9_compiling_problem.php (read my first post in that thread, I'm not sure it's 100% correct but it's worth a shot...)

i don't really care to much about compiling it with hammer. i've been working on many maps and i have 4-5 maps that need to be compiled, but something isn't working. another thing is today i tried to compile maps on 3 different computers and everytime I got the same problem. is it a virus or something. any ideas on why this is happening. i can understand one computer not having enough ram but 3 and last year it compiled perfectly. the only weird thing is over the summer the program shut down weird once and then it never worked right again. i've tried redownloading it but it doesn't work.

Does it just crash or do you get any error-message? Do you get an compile-log? If so, post it.

Wow i wish it would just fucking work. it just randomly decides to be a big bitch and not work. its making me really ticked. all of my friends are asking for my maps and i can't give them to them because none of the compilers don't want to work

Using ZHLT will likely fix it as KD says. I can't see it being the other reasons listed out thar on the internets.

Too many wads, 8 is max.(Tools-->Options-->Textures)

Also, the compile-tools can't find your wad-files, if you have multiple harddrives make sure all mapping-related stuff is on the same harddrive as where your game is installed.

Are you compiling through Hammer or with a batch-file?

Also, if you haven't already, after have removed the wads, restart Hammer before trying to compile again.
