and then select my own map i have created. I then click start and it doesnt create it it just goes back to the counterstrike menu.

When i check my console i get this error message...


CModelLoader::Map_IsValid: 'map1finished' is not a valid BSP file
map load failed: map1finished not found or invalid

Any help will be much appreciated.

yea it is a counter strike source map and when i click the create server so i can use my map i see my map name, but when i then click create game it just exits the create server window.

could i have the wrong version of hammer?

Um, you should be using the Source SDK that has Hammer installed on it to make Source maps >>
