So I've sadly strayed away from programming lately, and decided I need to do something about that... and since I've been playing counterstrike quite a bit lately, I figured what a better project than to make some hacks.

Then I realized something, I have no idea where to start.
Does anyone have any advice/info on how certain hacks are made?

My main goal here is to produce a complete set of hacks for cs1.6 (walls, speed, aimbot, no recoil, fast firing, etc.), that are completely open source.

So, any tips, articles, source code, whatever you have would be helpful.

Edit: It'd probably help to say that I plan on using C++ for this (unless its required to use something else. Like I said, I've never attempted to do anything like this, and this is a learning experience for me)

For what?
I don't use any hacks while playing.
I chose to make some hacks for two reasons:
1.) It'll be a great way to learn how to make a program that interacts with other programs.
2.) I've seen so many places where people ask "Where can I get some free hax that aren't full of viruses?", and releasing a big pack of open sourced hacks would solve that. (also I can set up a site and use that to draw traffic to it)

Edit: Also I just thought, when I eventually get to making my own game engine, it'll help me understand how a lot of things are done to make stuff work.

Wallhacks alter the game engine. They tell it to render entities beyond walls (most basic wallhacks). The really cool wallhacks make corners invisible when you get close to them.

Yes sprinkles, I know what a wallhack is xD

Well I found this cool tutorial on making an aimbot (I was guessing that'd be that hardest one to do, looks like I was probably right)
hxxp://www.oldschoolidiot.de/tutorials/World%20of%20Game%20Douche%20-%20The%20Home%20of%20CES%20-%20moron%20Tutorial!.html

I had started working on a woodcutting bot for runescape a long time ago, and what it did was search for a certain color on the screen and then click on it. I had figured that aimbots used a similar method, never realized they actually calculated the angles you need to turn based on your position/angle related to other players positions... interesting

What the fuck is wrong with you?! Why would you want to make hacks more available to people? People who are looking for hacks SHOULD get viruses. They deserve it. They also deserve to be drawn and quartered.

Well, seeing as how I'll make them open sourced, VAC should be able to make them detected pretty easily.

Also, there are surprisingly quite a few servers out there that are "hack servers", where its pretty much a battle to see who has the best hacks.

Also, with the source being readily available, a lot of other people will be able to learn from it as well (yes I do realize that this means more people will know how to make hacks... but I don't care <3)

Given that the only rule on this forum is don't piss off the admins it should be easy to avoid getting summarily banned. Hacks and child porn are pretty much the only thing that will piss us off. It's really easy to avoid pissing us off. You've already permanently destroyed your reputation around here, there's no need to get yourself banned by continuing to act like hacks are in ANY way acceptable to have anything to do with.

I'm surprised you wouldn't already know that most people will NEVER PLAY GAMES WITH YOU AGAIN if they believe you are a hacker. You are obviously a hacker, or you wouldn't be talking about this, so it really is amazing you wouldn't know not to talk about it.

I'm startin' to lead more towards the "being trolled" option.

But if thats not the case, then my respect for you has just dropped some. Assuming that I'm a hacker because I'm interested in coding some hacks is pretty stupid.
I am, I guess, a "hacker", but when it comes to games I really see no reason, especially with a game like counterstrike that relies heavily on the users actual skill. I've actually worked pretty hard (lol, as if playing a game for countless hours is hard work) to get as good as I am in CS, and using any sort of hack would make me feel... can't think of a good word... like everything I worked for was meaningless and a waste of time.

Btw, just to avoid confusion, when I say that I'm a hacker I don't at all mean the stereotypical "lol lets go on a rampage and break into everything then destroy it all" definition that one might assume. If I may make a cheesy quote "My crime is that of curiosity".

It depends on what kind of hacker he is.

If he's one of those speeders who go around knifing people, then I would call him a shithead, BUT if he was a dude who is walling and trying to make him seem like he's not hacking, then he's worse than aaronjer when it comes to his views towards his brother's homosexuality.

The murderers are going to get their weapons regardless of weather they are being given away for free or not. But, by your logic you don't trust anyone that works at say, Ruger? Yet, you don't even know them, and just assume that because they make guns that they are in favor of people being killed.

Well, I could sit here and argue/create metaphors about weapons all day, but in the end it isn't gonna change anything. I'm still the same person I was before I mentioned making hacks, its not like all off a sudden I decided to completely change my morals.

Well at weapon stores like Ruger (never heard of, so if it's not a weapon store, I'm dumb) the customer has to have a weapon license (Well, atleast in Sweden). If you give them out free and stuff to people who wants them, they might not be worthy it. Compared to the other weapons being given out the same way might actually kill the user (virus).

Okay, lets skip the weapon methaphores then. You might still be the same guy but we see a difference, like if AJ suddently got boring and didn't stop being like that, you would comment on it. You might not like AJ anymore because he suddently just changed something. This website doesn't have that many hackers (I presume and hope) and to find out your one kinda changes our minds about you. And more, have to play some now. Textey hurts my fingers!

That argument doesn't work here. Guns actually have useful and beneficial functions, game hacks do not. The only result of producing hacks is more hackers. It is ONLY bad. The idea that making more of them won't increase the number of hackers is just stupid. Making hacks is MUCH worse than hacking oneself.

Figure it out already. You're okay with ruining people's fun. You are an ASSHOLE.

Making a set of hacks absolutely has beneficial functions... for one, I will learn a lot while making them. Two, other people will learn a lot by seeing the source code, which I'm sure you will also think is only bad, but really it gives the people who write VAC and similar anti-hack systems to see exactly what makes up certain hacks and will help them in preventing the use of them. Which also brings me to the point of: seeing as how they will be open source, you can guarantee that any anti hack system out there is going to have my hacks detected the second they hear about them.

And, as for "The idea that making more of them won't increase the number of hackers is just stupid.", well... I really don't see any logic there. Just because a new set of hacks are released you think all these people are going to say to themselves "Oh I heard that yet another person out there released some hacks for counterstrike, I better start hacking."? No, thats just ridiculous. The people out there that have chosen to hack, are already out there hacking.

Question:

If you want to learn so much about programming, why not write some sort of useful program?

It seems possible that you would learn just as much writing something besides a hack

Man this thread has gotten ridiculous... nobody has yet to give any valid reasons for any of their opinions, its just mindless arguing. I'm done with this... I'll continue researching on how to go about making them elsewhere, since nobody wants to help. Really there is no point in me arguing about it anymore, no matter what anyone says, in the end its all going to boil down to "you have your opinion and I have mine".

Edit: and to answer your question jake, I'm not going to cancel a project I started because a few people said they would hate me because of it. Hell, pretty much everyone hated Tesla for the stuff that he did, but he did it anyway, and in the end he learned a lot from all the stuff he did and became one of the smartest/most powerful people in history.
