i saved it did everything right then when i double click the mapname.bat the ms-dos batch i see a black screen with writing for like a flash second? what did i do?

if i executed thee batch file shouldn't i get a screen to look at? a black screen with white lettering pops up then goes away

It sounds like you are missing the line that says:

pause
