Hello there, anyone knows how to make the door split, like an fire door? Have it with the Origin to do? And how do i place the Origin?
I'm mapping my maps, and rest of you are naps.

so you want to make a rotating door that separates in the middle right ?? ...
its simple you just make 2 rotating doors facing each other

its in the tutorial http://www.superjer.com/learn/func_door_rotating.php


so you just make your door (as many brushes and textures as you want , long as they can be held together ) now you make a new brush and put "origin" texture on it .
the origin-brush is basically the hinge that your door will rotate on .. so you put the origin-brush to the required place ( like in the pic from the tutorial ) the door will rotate on the middle axis of the origin-brush .

now after this is done you select your door & origin-brush and press the to entity button ( Ctrl + T )and then select frunc_door_rotating from the dropdown list ....( so that they form a single entity , do not make them separate entities )

thats basically it you can set some properties ( like explained int the tutorial )

to make a double door just make another door that will rotate the opposite way ( by putting the origin-brush on the other side )

hes want to make a door like the fire doors in Hl that split.

Make two parts, and give them func_door entity.
Then u can figure out the setting and make them go separate directions

oh sorry didn't understand .. you wanted to make simple doors not rotating ones ? yeah just make 2 door brushes and make them entities ( Ctrl + T ) and select func_door for each of them ) for simple sliding doors you don't need origin texture

amm the regular thing is what i said !!

you can't make a splitting door , just out of 2 separate doors that work together

so like you make 2 rotating door that turn opposite ways ( func_door_rotating )

or 2 sliding doors that slide opposite ways ( func_door )
