I think he's trying to say that he cannot select anything in the 3D view :)
Idk, do you have the select tool on?
Also, if you were meddling with the toggle texture application tool, try shift+D. Don't know exactly what it does but it worked for me :D

Supposedly the most recent ATi cards are very nice, particularly the 4000-series whatevers. I'd still like to get an nVidia though.
