Hey, I'm a retarded nub in this kind of business and started just today.
And I made the little room-map in the guide and everything went well, except when I compiled it.

Since I'm a nub i'll just paste the thing here so you can see it yourself..

----- BEGIN hlcsg -----
Command line: hlcsg tabulator1
Entering tabulator1.map

Current hlcsg Settings
Name | Setting | Default
---------------------|-----------|-------------------------

min surface area [ 0.500 ] [ 0.500 ]
brush union threshold [ 0.000 ] [ 0.000 ]

Using mapfile wad configuration
Wadinclude list :
[zhlt.wad]

0 brushes (totalling 0 sides) discarded from clipping hulls
CreateBrush:
(0.00 seconds)
SetModelCenters:
(0.00 seconds)
CSGBrush:
(0.02 seconds)

Error: Could not open wad file \spill\counter-strike 1.6\cstrike\cstrike.wad
Error: Could not find WAD file
Description: The compile tools could not locate a wad file that the map was referencing.
Howto Fix: Make sure the wad's listed in the level editor actually all exist

----- END hlcsg -----

And this was in the error file:

hlcsg: Error: Could not find WAD file
Description: The compile tools could not locate a wad file that the map was referencing.

I think its because your using " " space in your CS path.
I want to make a HL mod! Doing everythig with HL except coding C++ | its not interesting to work alone

Probably "\spill\counter-strike 1.6\cstrike\cstrike.wad" is not on the same drive you are compiling on.

Everything must be on the same drive.
