I try to run the map but it tells me I have the wrong version. I'm using cs 1.6 steam.

Basically I made a map and when I try to run it. It give me: "Mod_LoadBrushModel: Maps/tas.bsp has wrong version number(571084155 Should be 30)"
Which doesn't explain anything.

What game are you loading your map in?

My tutorial is only for CS1, not CS:Source or any other Source games. That error indicated you are trying to load a Half-Life 1 map in Half-Life 2.

If you want to make maps for Source, you need to use a different version of Hammer.

If you're trying to load it in CS1.6 then the map must be corrupted. Check your compile log for errors or warnings.

Good luck on your second try, though!

I have a feeling I had accidentally skipped a step. I don't think I did the compiling part right. I don't quite get that part.
