i went to my folder in C://program files/steam/steam:
and there was no counter strike there... just "deticated server" :S

and also there is a "C://program files/valve" where everything is place, including maps, logos... cause i actually installed cstrike from a friend using a flash drive, hope this helps you helping me help myself :P

So what you need in the BAT file is the second filepath, leading to your actual cstrike folder.
May contain traces of invisible text.

The path to your maps-folder.

From the tut:
Quote:

"C:\Steam" may not be the correct location of Steam on your computer. Make sure you type the correct location on both the lines where it says that. Also replace "EMAIL" with your account name. And if you do not have a "maps" folder, create one.

An example: if your computer username is Brolyfreiza and you have steam on D then instead of
copy mapname.bsp "C:\Steam\SteamApps\EMAIL\counter-strike\cstrike\maps
you write
copy mapname.bsp "D:\Steam\SteamApps\Brolyfreiza\counter-strike\cstrike\maps"

If there is no counter-strike folder inside the Steam\SteamApps\Brolyfreiza, then there's probably something wrong with your game... I think.
...and that's the bottom line because Mate de Vita said so.

nope, nothing wrong... i play it fine.
it's a 2 in 1 thingy
i got cs zero, and cz 1.6 from the same file setup... and both of them are in the Valve folder, working just fine .
so im different from some of you guys, but im sure there is a way to write it down in the mapname.bat

could you please copy the location in which you have cstrike.exe (if you're not sure, select the shortcut you use and press alt+enter, then copy the 'target' field)?
...and that's the bottom line because Mate de Vita said so.

I think you should write C:\Program Files\Valve\cstrike\maps

I don't know what the steam folder set-up looks like though so I can't be sure.

so instead of:
@echo off
hlcsg -nowadtextures mapname
hlbsp mapname
hlvis mapname
hlrad mapname
copy mapname.bsp "C:\Steam\SteamApps\EMAIL\counter-strike\cstrike\maps"
pause
"C:\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 10 -dev +sv_cheats 1 +map mapname

i write
Quote:
C:\Program Files\Valve\cstrike\maps

?

no, instead of
Quote:
C:\Steam\SteamApps\EMAIL\counter-strike\cstrike\maps
you write
Quote:
C:\Program Files\Valve\cstrike\maps

But I still don't guarantee that it will work.
...and that's the bottom line because Mate de Vita said so.

C:\seirra\counter strike\bla bla bla"
