hlvis:Error: Portal file ' bb_trampoline.prt ' does not exist, cannot vis the map
I get this error whenever i try to compile a map how do i fix it
i'm only using 2 wad files so its not that

oh umm i cant do that cause i have a virus on my computer and i cant use browsers so i could have to type it all out on my laptop :/ it happens on every map i try to compile but it only started today but i guess u guys cant help

Well, you're doing something wrong. And we won't know what's wrong until you post the log. It's like... say your car won't start. You tell the mechanic over the phone, and he says right can you bring the car in, and you say no, so he can only give you general advice like put petrol in, make sure the battery's not flat... but really, that's probably not the problem. But he can't fix it because you've not shown him the car.
That's a messy analogy, but I think it brings across the key points.

With only like 5 seconds of googling, I'm guessing that you are using a preset (trampoline), and there is something fucked up with it. So delete it, then try compiling, and see what happens.

Edit2:After looking on google and around here, it seems like there are a lot of different things that can cause that error... gonna need more info or for you to upload the map or something.

Rockbomb: that error means that for some reason, one of the compiling tools exited early. hlvis needs certain files to operate on; one of those (mapname.prt) is created by an earlier tool. So that file missing could even be caused by simply not running one of the compile programs beforehand. Or there could be some other horrendous problem that we've never seen before causing hlbsp to fail. Who knows.
