Ok i have used win bsp to change a .bsp file to a .map file so i can edit cs_assault_upc but when i hammer the textures dont show the objects are just plain colours.....any ideas?

You need to have the appropriate wad files loaded for the map.

On some maps the textures are included in the BSP. If this is the case there is a program called Textract you can use to extract the .WADs from the BSP.

Otherwise, open the .MAP in notepad and check for the .WAD file list. It should be very near the top.

i have done that sup today and used the wads but textures still did not show and i compiled and played to test and still the same result....just standard colours :(

Did you select "3D Textured" in the camera menu?

cstrike.wad assault.wad decals.wad halflife.wad thats it yeah and i selected 3d textured

and i cant even change the textures so there must be something wrong somewhere along the line

Is everything on the same disk drive?

Like all on drive C:\ ?

Stuff gets weird with wads when you have different drives.
