when I try to compile my map it says "The system cannot find file specified" in the command window. How do I fix this as no .err doc is created either so I can't find out what's gone wrong

do you have all the compiling programs that superjer told you to have in the same folder with your.bat and .map file?

when it says cannott find the file or wutever wut section is it under? the section whould start with hl..hlcsg, hlrad, hlbsp u know

Yep. At what point does it say that? Very beginning? After stuff happens?

You probably have a typo somewhere in your .bat file. Or you really ARE missing a file.

Most likely the line that starts with "copy..." has a problem.

I managed to get it working, my Mapname had a space in it and for some reason only the second word was being recognised. Maybe you should mention it in your tutorial.
