yeah ok i got GCF scape and i downloaded the zip thing u gave to the other dude. but how do i import the wad file to valve hammer editor??? when i use gcf scape i can find cstrike.wad, but i dont know who to put it into the add wad part in valva hammer editor!!!plz help me

i used to have the same problem but i think the easiest way is to just download and install the non steam version of CS because all the wad's aren't hidden and are easily accesible.

you can get non steam at www.fragbase.ca and the patch too, so u install CS then the CS patch and after that the wads are all there where u installed it too

It doesn't matter where you put the wads.
I just put them in my C:\zhlt\ folder because it's easy.
The game will use the ones in the GCF.
Hammer will use the ones you extract, you just have to tell it which ones to load on the Textures tab in the Options.

IM SO CONFUSED! well, i can find cstrike.wad on GCF scape but how do i put cstrike.wad on the add wad section in hammer???:S:S:S

In GCFScape there should be an option to extract cstrike.wad. Right click on it or drag it or something.
You just need to get cstrike.wad out of the GCF and somewhere on your hard drive.
I recommend putting it in the same place as your ZHLT compilers to keep things simple.
THEN...
In Hammer go to Tools->Options->Textures tab and click Add Wad. Find cstrike.wad where ever you extracted it to.

The wad is being used or the GCF?
Try closing Steam first.
Nothing should be using the WAD.

I am at work. I don't have GCFScape or Steam here.
I don't remember exactly but you should be able to either right click on cstrike.wad in the GCF and choose to extract it. Or maybe just drag it out to a folder.
Try stuff.

i extracted it to a file and im on hammer in add wad thing so i got to the file and it says root right? so do i put the whole root thing into add wad or a certain file in cstrike inside of root?
