 I have everything working fine with zhlt with no errors. when i run the .bat it works all good and my cs 1.6 opens and NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS. MY MAP WONT POP UP. i read the tutorial word by word but it just says the map will come up and it doesnt.. is there anything else i should do?

 You can always start it up manually, in CS, choose "New Game" at the main menu then choose your map in the list.
 
If you need help with auto-starting the map after compile you need to post the content of your .bat-file.

 if I understand the file correctly, then
 Quote: "C:\Programs\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 10 -dev +sv_cheats 1  this is the command that runs counter strike and makes it possible to use cheat codes.
 So if your cs doesn't open when it finishes compiling, check this for errors (and make sure you have the proper version of the bat file - steam/nonsteam), especially the location of the executable file.
 Also, like eDan said, if you don't press a key when it finishes compiling, the cs won't start. Except if you delete the 'pause' command in the bat file. But then you won't be able to check the zhlt folder for .err files before the game starts.
 And this:
 Quote:  +map testmap  
is the command that starts a new game with the map.
 So if your counter-strike opens but your map doesn't check that +map testmap part (make sure the 'testmap' is replaced by the name of your map).
