how to get gun pointer and knife

hi!!
i have finally succeded in making a map usinh valve hammer editor

but when i run the .bsp file and the game starts i cant see knife in the hand of either ct or t's

and neither it appears after picking up the gun also

i waana know how to generate that pointer and also how to place knife in the hand of players.

You are probably in "single player" mode in CS which Valve keeps changing and I guess now you don't get weapons there.

All you have to do is start a New Game server on your map and everything should be peachy.

Single player mode is useful sometimes for turning on cheats and fixing bugs. For example, you can use gl_wireframe 1 or 2 in single player but not in multi.
