You should use regular expressions!

Which, interestingly enough, are no longer considered regular! That is, their complexity is greater than than a regular language, they're now something like a context-free.

What do you mean?

I didn't know wikipedia was a regular expression.
...and that's the bottom line because Mate de Vita said so.

You know what I use Wikipedia for? I use it for album art the Itunes refuses to download [or leftload for that matter]. Other than that I wouldn't use Wikipedia to wipe my ass.

Come on DR the first site I clicked on was dedicated to regular expressions, use Wikipedia please. Oh wait you wouldn't have gotten the same results since you use Google.

Actually if I type "regex" into the firefox address bar I imagine I'd get there, seeing as I've been there before.

Testing reveals yes, I did! It's a good reference for how to make them but probably Wikipedia tells you what they are more clearly. Also, about the second bit... Wiki is probably the best bet for that too, as I don't know of any one site offhand that will give you a fairly simple introduction to the Chomsky Hierarchy.

Yeah, I skimmed over it, and said "Ahh, I'll ne'er need to know this." Which I probably will, but we'll worry about that later.

I agree!

The guy who made regular-expressions.info has been published by o'Reilly, I'll believe anything he says!

In what way are they senseless? They may be hard to read until you learn the very basic syntax, but they are incredibly logical. FORMULAIC, even...
