Obviously you can blacklist someone by their ip, but is there any other way you can blacklist someone? Say they use a proxy, how can I make sure they're still blacklisted? subnet? some other way?

MAC address possibly.
Or you could try saving a cookie on their computer, and have the site search for that cookie... if its there it won't let them on.

You can't see MAC addresses over the Internet. And people can change them anyway. You can use a cookie but that only works if your target is too dumb to erase it.

You can also try a "Flash cookie" or something similar.

These also only work if you are talking about HTTP.

Basically, if a user drops cookies and can change IPs, you can't stop them.
