i cant talk in CS in Vidja Games

whenever i type my mesage and press enter it goes away. i cant see anyone elses messages either. i have to use console. any idea how to fix it?

i opned the .MAP... made some changes...added more entities...and it stil says missing portal file

same thing happened. im confused. when i decompiled the bsp. i opened the .MAP from it into hammer and there was nothing.
