In the entity properties (alt+enter when you have the door selected) there's a little compass and under it a little box. Set the direction to Up there.

Change the Render Mode to Solid and FX Amount to 255 (if it isn't yet).

It should be in the point entity list (press shift+e and the list should be on the right side of the hammer window). If it isn't in the list (or if there's no list at all), you probably haven't set up the fgd properly. So download the fgd from this site's tutorial and in hammer go to tools->options->game configurations and under game data files add this fgd.
...and that's the bottom line because Mate de Vita said so.

quick question. I am making fun_door_rotating and i set it all up like it shows in the tutorial but when i get ingame theres nothing there. ive tried solid, texture, and normal render modes and i still get nothing. The same thing is happening to my spinning trap for my deathrun. if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

See that Invisible isn't set to Yes in the entity properties.
Also make sure the FX amount is non-zero.
Lastly which texture did you use for the door?

ok well i am making a deathrun inside my jailbreak map atm so I used the C1A3FLOOR02 for the texture for the trap rotating doors. as for the spinning tube i used the texture stripes 4. I mean all my other doors working but their sliding doors not rotating ones. All my rotating objects dont show up and their not even there. All of them are set to this:

render mode: texture - no light
FX Amount: 255
Invisible: no
non solid: no

and all of their are linked to their corresponding axis. they just dont seem to show up. ill try your idea mate and go into properties and manually set the invisibility. hope it works.
