In the recent days some noob is trying to ping flood us.

About 10-20 years ago this scheme worked nicely, network cards were so slow that you were actually able to flood their cache and burn them out physically.

Ofc this created a panic and after a few months this issue was completly eliminated and never even mentioned between pro people. However the hype so large that even today you might find command line that worked back then.

Where the theory fails. Ping floods can't simply work for one reason. You are connecting to some ISP, that connects at some point to the server ISP. The ISP itself needs to work for lots of people so the bandwidth is divided between lots of users.

So if you try to ping flood, DDOS, or any other flood from 1 single PC it will simply be impossible to even produce lag. The ISP will not allow you to steal bandwidth from the other users = you create lag for yourself, enter some extatic state the you are producing lag and others see it the same way ..... Well no, it's just the flooder's lag.

So this guy from finland with IP 88.195.54.200, that is pinging us for like 4 days in a row managed to create a 60 MB IP log... Congrats. I hope that some day someone will visit you and and cut your internet bandwidth to even a lower limit.

I hope that this lesson teaches some of the noob hackers that imagine they are producing chaos are actually just hurting themself. However since they could not imagine how things work i doubt they would understand my point either. You have a long road ahead to understand things. FAIL !

i just wanted to tell you this information

If you have a host booter and about 100 zombies then you could cause lag, but host booters works efficiently on a host without a dedicated server. Possibly kicking them off the internet for a few minutes, mainly used on Xbox Live.
