I recently picked Kingdom of Loathing back up, and it's still pretty rad. It's a turn-based RPG in browserland, and it's totally free. It's been in open beta since 2003. The company makes its money from donations and merch, there are no subscriptions or advertisements or dlc or any of that crap. Try it out, an adventurer is you!
